Love for Sri Lanka Gala

Sri Lanka is in the midst of a humanitarian crisis, with a mass shortage of food, fuel, electricity, medicine and other essentials. Together with Peter Kuruvita and UNICEF Australia, we hosted the Love for Lanka Appeal here in Sydney and raised well over $500,000 for UNICEF’s emergency relief work in Sri Lanka.
Peter Kuruvita, together with Colombo Social, The Fold and Manjit’s, put on a Sri Lankan feast to treat our 420 guests to a 5-course meal to remember. The evening featured Logie award-winning comedian, Dilruk Jayasinha, Phil Burton of Human Nature, Kandyan Dancing, and so much more!
Thank you to all the chefs who contributed to this amazing event with the most delicious food – The Fold, Colombo Social and Manjit’s. A special thank you to NSW Premier, Dominic Perrottet, Glenn McGrath, Pat Cummins, Anthony Minichello, Manu Fieldel, Dilmah’s Dilhan Fernando and so many others for their generous contributions. Cricketers such as, Australian Cricket Captain, Pat Cummins, and cricketing legends, Glenn McGrath, Shane Watson and Steve Waugh, have also lent their voice to our initiative.
We are grateful to have received tremendous support from individuals who are either Sri Lankan or connected to Sri Lanka in some way.
